REMINDER:  The next Board meeting will be November 5, 2006.

Meeting was called to order at 2:05pm by President Gerry Spry.

Present: John Madden, Wes Broadnax, Terry Person, Gerry Spry, Beryl Falcone, John Kostoff, Gary Baron, Bill Sachs, Kevin Sedatole, Lynn Brown, Dale Bartlett

Secretary's Report - Lynn Brown

Minutes from the May 7, 2006 meeting were approved as presented.

Treasurer’s Report - John Kostoff

Report approved as presented.

For the period May 7, 2006 – August 6, 2006:

Total Expenses = $5, 718.35
Total Deposits = $2,709.50
Ending Balance (checking account) = $4,738.12
            (Commission Portion)             $1,688.00         

            (Regular Portion)                      $3,050.12


Other funds:
Certificate of Deposit (As of 07/23/2006) = $5,270.12

Total Cash on Hand = $10,008.24

Anticipated expenditures:

Bloomquist Scholarship (Yearly) = $1,000.00
John H. Whitwell Scholarship (Yearly) = $1,000.00

Commission Project = $2,500.00

 

 

 

Vice President’s Report – Terry Person

            No report.

 President’s Report – Gerry Spry

Kim Hopkins is moving to Baltimore, MD.  It was agreed to have her continue in her role for one year.  However, we will be getting bids from printers.

 Member Relations Report – Beryl Falcone

                        No report.

Past President’s Report – Jim McCaffrey

No report.

 Band Director’s Report

John Whitwell – not present.

John Madden – It has not yet been determined if the Alumni Band will be sitting in the stands or on the field during the Fall Alumni Band Day.

Wes Broadnax – no report.

Isaiah Odajima – not present.

Kevin Sedatole – no report.

Old Business

MSU Alumni Band Trip – Dale Bartlett 

The 2007 Canadian Rockies trip is moving forward.  We are still accepting participants.  The band has balanced instrumentation but we could still use another percussionist and another trumpet. However, all band sections are open to additional players.  There will be a tour band reunion supper after the homecoming game on September 30, which will be held at Coral Gables at 4pm.  Information regarding this reunion supper will be mailed yet this month.

 

Golf Outing – Lynn Brown

The Eighth Annual Golf Outing will be held September 29 at Oak Lane Golf Course.  To date, 20 participants have registered.  Please visit:  http://msuabgo.tripod.com for information and to print a registration form.  The board approved providing $100 to help cover expenses.

                       

Homecoming Parade – Jack Nelson

Not present.

 

Encore – Bill Sachs

            No report.

             

New Business

                        Alumni Band Day

The group discussed arrangements.
