Alumni Band European Trip Update – Dale Bartlett

136 people participated in the 2004 Alumni Tour Band trip to Holland, Belgium and France.  The two-week trip began on June 21 and lasted for most until July 4.  Of the 136 travelers, 72 were in the band – conducted by Kenneth Bloomquist – that played five concerts:  Amsterdam, Dordrecht, Bruges, Brussels and Paris (in the Luxenborg Gardens with a large and enthusiastic French audience, even during the final “Stars and Stripes Forever”).  All in all, it was a wonderful trip that was planned by travel agent Lauralee Campbell and trip director Dale Bartlett.  Plans for a 2007 trip are already being discussed.

 New Business

There was discussion as to the objectives of the Alumni Band Board.  It was suggested that we get some historical perspective as to the Board activities since its inception, assuming that such perspective would provide the Board with a better understanding of what is expected.  Dale Bartlett offered to undertake gathering information pertinent to this discussion along with help from the Board secretary.
