John Kostoff was not present. The treasurer’s report was provided for the
meeting.

Wes Broadnax – preparations are in progress for the Alumni Band’s performance at the Spring concert. John Madden is determining the music to be played.

Old Business
MSU Alumni Band Trip – Dale Bartlett
Information provided post-meeting.
The MSU Alumni Touring Band Western Canada trip for 2007 is
in the process of developing band instrumentation and openings in personnel
remain. Sections of particular need
include: trumpet, percussion and
oboe. The Alumni Tour Band Luncheon will
be held at the Marriott Hotel at
Spring Concert Report
Coffee, tea and orange juice have been ordered. Members of Tau Beta Sigma will be providing food.
Mass Mailings – Gary Baron
Since the Encore was published, 36 e-mails have been updated and 200 are still unaccounted for.
Discussion of our
The board approved the Purpose/Mission of the MSU Alumni Band Association:
1. To
facilitate contacts/communication within MSU Band Alumni.
2.
To provide ongoing support of the MSU Band Program.
3.
To promote opportunities for collegial/social activities among band
alumni.
4.
To promote opportunities for active musical participation for band
alumni.
5.
To participate in and support specific targeted fund raising.
Discussion of our scholarships – Joe Levine
The
board approved the following: Two Alumni
Band Association scholarships will be presented each year – one in the Fall (Bloomquist Scholarship) and one in the Spring (Whitwell Scholarship).
Each scholarship will be in the amount of $1000. Private donations for these scholarships, received
by the MSU Development Office, will be used to offset the amount necessary for
the Alumni Band Association to pay in order to meet the $1000 amount for each
scholarship. Scholarship recipients will
be named by band department.
Alumni Band Day for the fall – John Madden
Not present.
Encore Report – Bill Sachs
Bill and Kim working together is going well.
New Business
Slate of Officers for 2006
The slate of officers is being determined.

The golf outing website is now updated to reflect the Eighth
Annual MSU Alumni Band Golf Outing that will be held on
Lynn Brown has been paying $4.95/month for the golf outing
website. The board approved reimbursing
