Minutes from the March 16, 2003 meeting were approved as amended.

For the period March 16, 2003 – May 4, 2003:
Total Expenses = $121.79
Total Deposits = $585.00
Ending Balance (checking account) = $2,385.83
Other funds:
Certificate of Deposit = $6,609.31
Total Cash on Hand = $8,995.14
Anticipated expenditures:
Bloomquist Scholarship (Yearly) = $500.00
R J Bullock Digitizing Project = $2,000.00

Vice President’s Report – Gerry Spry
Gerry will write an article for the June 2003 "Encore" re the Organizational Goals-Fund Raising Agenda discussion group. John Whitwell mentioned that discussion regarding scholarships, commissions, etc. needs to include Jim Forger. John Madden, John Whitwell, Jim McCaffrey and Gerry Spry will meet to discuss organizational goals and fund raising.
President’s Report – Jim McCaffrey
Kim Hopkins will add the issue date on the newsletter. John Whitwell will provide an update re the new building for the June 2003 "Encore."
It was decided it was a good idea to have a guest conductor at the Spring Reunion concerts; that we will make this a tradition.
Fall Reunion duties: Joe Levine – campus tours; Kim – registration form; Jim McCaffrey – arrangements with Williamston Roadhouse
Executive Secretary’s Report – Beryl Falcone
Our mailing list is becoming updated.
Alumni Band European Trip Update – Dale Bartlett
The band may need additional players. Anyone interested should contact Dale.
Past President’s Report – Bill Monroe
We need to begin thinking about who may be interested in being on the next board.

Duty list of at-large members is not yet complete.
New Business
Intrepid will be selling SMB merchandise online. There was discussion regarding having Alumni merchandise for sale online – Jim McCAffrey will speak with Paul at UGLI.
Director’s Report – John Madden
Building Update – re the Athletic Bands, Demonstration Hall may be a space for renovation.
The next board meeting is scheduled for July 20, 2003 at 2:00 pm at Buddies in Okemos.
