REMINDER:  The next Board meeting will be August 13, 2006.

Meeting was called to order at 2:04pm by President Gerry Spry.

Present: Kim Hopkins, John Madden, Joe Levine, Gerry Spry, Dale Bartlett, John Kostoff, Bob Rice, Terry Person, Jack Nelson, Lynn Brown

Secretary's Report - Lynn Brown

Minutes from the March 19, 2006 meeting were approved as presented

Treasurer’s Report - John Kostoff

Report approved as presented.

For the period March 19, 2006 – May 7, 2006:

Total Expenses = $290.36
Total Deposits = $1,110.00
Ending Balance (checking account) = $8,826.31
            (Commission Portion)             $1,618.00         

            (Regular Portion)                      $7,208.31


Other funds:
Certificate of Deposit (As of 01/24/2006) = $5,183.93

Total Cash on Hand = $14,010.24

Anticipated expenditures:

Bloomquist Scholarship (Yearly) = $500.00
Commission Project = $2,500.00

John Madden – new director will be arriving around June 1.

Old Business

MSU Alumni Band Trip – Dale Bartlett

Information provided post-meeting.

The Alumni Touring Band members participated in a noon luncheon at the East Lansing Marriott on Alumni Concert Band Day April 23, 2006.  At the luncheon Lauralee Campbell presented updated information regarding the Alaskan Cruise which is an extension of the 2007 Western Canadian trip.  She is to mail to those signed up for the trip the information presented at the Luncheon.  Openings in band personnel still are available to any players.

 

Spring Concert Report

Approximately 70 players participated.

                       

Fall Alumni Band Day – John Madden

A reminder:  The Band Department does not provide tickets for family and friends of those participating.

Scholarship Report – Joe Levine

            No report.

 

New Business

                        Encore – Kim Hopkins

The next Encore will be published June 1, 2006.  All items to be included are due May 23.

           

                        Golf Outing – Lynn Brown

The outing will be held Friday, September 29, 2006.  The fee is $48.  For additional information, please visit:  http://msuabgo.tripod.com.

 

 

Homecoming Parade – Jack Nelson

            Jack will request that the Alumni Band will be the next band after the MSU Marching Band.

Fall Alumni Band Day – Saturday, September 30, 2006 – John Madden

            John will add post-game information to the itinerary.  It is encouraged that Alumni Band personnel wear white Alumni Band hats during halftime.  This request will be put on the registration form.

                       

The next board meeting is scheduled for August 13, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Buddies in Okemos.
